A golf holiday in Finland: 127 courses, green fees and places to stay

Finland has 127 golf courses with 2,537 holes between them, and our catalog holds 173 places to stay around them. This guide collects what a round costs, where the courses are and where the lodging is within walking distance — as plain numbers, with every green fee read from the club's own site and every distance computed from coordinates.
What a round costs
Of Finland's 127 courses, 123 publish a visitor green fee on their own site. Taking each club's highest ordinary adult visitor price — the weekend or peak-season rate, not a separately named premium product — the median of those prices is 65 euros. The cheapest is Anola Golf Club in Pieksämäki at 20 euros and the dearest Golf Sarfvik in Kirkkonummi at 250 euros. Thirty-one courses come in under 50 euros, 74 sit between 50 and 79, and 18 ask 80 or more. Four publish no price at all: Kultaranta sells packages only, Syväri has no website, and Laukaan Peurunkagolf and Aavasaksa keep their rates off the web. 117 courses name their tee-time booking system, so a slot can usually be reserved without a phone call.
Where the courses are
The courses spread across 19 regions, but not evenly: Uusimaa alone has 35, more than a quarter of the country's total. Next come Varsinais-Suomi with 11 and Pirkanmaa and Pohjois-Pohjanmaa with eight each. Twenty-six courses are nine-hole layouts and 19 have 36 holes or more; the largest is Pickala Golf in Siuntio with 54 holes, followed by Vierumäki Golf in Heinola with 45. In practice that means plenty of choice from the capital region, while in many regions the nearest course is the only one.
Staying next to the course
Of the catalog's 173 places to stay, 13 have their nearest course under 300 metres away and 30 under a kilometre. Three share their grounds with the course outright: Holiday Club Katinkulta in Sotkamo, Kultaranta Resort in Naantali and Revontuli Resort in Hankasalmi. Closest after them are Hill Side Golf & Sports Resort in Vihti, 20 metres from its own course, and Bomila Forest Suites in Joroinen, 50 metres from Kartanogolf. Where the numbers come from
Green fees were read one by one from the clubs' own sites, not from price-comparison portals, and the source URL of every price is on file. Course and property coordinates are geocoded from each party's own published street address in the Finnish national address register, and courses are additionally cross-checked against the OpenStreetMap golf course area. Distances are straight lines between two coordinates, so the real driving or walking distance is always at least as long. The hole count adds up every numbered course of nine holes or more; shorter par 3 loops are not counted. Prices change by season — the figures describe the situation on the guide's update date.
