Lake Garda

Lake Garda is northern Italy's densest golf area: this catalogue lists 11 courses on the lake's southern and western shores, in the hills around Verona and on the Folgaria plateau. The season is spring and autumn, not winter: at the Verona airport station (1991–2020) March–April days are 15–19 °C and nights 4–8 °C, October–November days 13–19 °C and nights 5–10 °C, with 6–9 rain days a month, and the courses at the northern end close for winter. Finnair flies Helsinki–Milan Malpensa year-round and Helsinki–Verona in the summer season, Norwegian Helsinki–Milan Bergamo year-round (airport route lists); the lake is half an hour's drive from Verona and about two hours from Milan. The largest courses – the former Chervò San Vigilio, Arzaga, Gardagolf and Paradiso – sit inside holiday villages and villa estates whose apartments the owners rent out privately.
