Kerry

Kerry is the heart of Irish links golf: this catalogue lists 11 courses from the shore of Tralee Bay to the Iveragh peninsula, and Waterville, Tralee, Dooks, Castlegregory and Hogs Head among them are true dune links on the Atlantic. The season runs April to October — Dooks and Tralee sell visitor tee times only then — and winter is mild but wet: at the Cork station the January mean is 5.7 °C and July 15.1 °C, rainfall is 1,230 mm a year with 10–11 rain days a month in summer and 15–16 in winter (climatestotravel.com, Cork). There is no direct flight from Helsinki to Cork or Kerry: Finnair flies Helsinki–Dublin, and from Dublin Ryanair flies to Kerry (Farranfore) (Wikipedia, Dublin Airport and Kerry Airport, 2 Sept 2026). Lodging is B&Bs, farmhouses and self-catering cottages let privately by their owners; Hogs Head and Parknasilla also have their own cottages and lodges.
