Bro-Bålsta GK is at Bro in Upplands-Bro municipality, about 35 km north-west of central Stockholm. The club has an 18-hole main course and alongside it a nine-hole course of par 31 with alternating par-3 and par-4 holes — 27 counted holes in all. By the club's own description the course is a tribute to the classic courses of the British Isles adapted to the Nordic climate; the first 12 holes were opened in 1982 and the 18-hole course became ready for play in 1985. The architect is Peter Nordwall, whose signature is large, undulating greens. The visitor green fee tops out at SEK 1,100 (about €99) on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays before 13.59, and the nine-hole course costs at most SEK 300 as a day ticket.
