Sigtuna Golfklubb is in Sigtuna municipality on the shores of Mälaren, about 40 km north-west of central Stockholm. The club was formed in 1961 as the 66th golf club in Sweden and the 18-hole course became playable in 1969; it was laid out by Nils Sköld, rebuilt in 1988–1989 by Björn Eriksson, and hole 6 was redone in 2007–2008 by Peter Chamberlain. By the club's own description the course is gently undulating with stands of woodland, large oaks and open fields. There is also a six-hole short course with holes of 47–88 metres, which is not counted in the hole total. The visitor green fee tops out at SEK 800 (about €72); on weekdays it is SEK 650, nine holes cost SEK 420–570, and tee times are booked through Min Golf.
